FAQ

What is custom casting?

Custom casting reproduces an object in a new material. We make a mold from a product or a model, then cast it in gypsum, ceramic, or resin. Original Rose casts pieces for brands, events, and private clients in New York City and worldwide.

Can you cast our product?

Yes. Most objects can be molded, including footwear, bottles, and packaging. Send photos and dimensions and we will confirm.

What materials do you cast in?

Gypsum, ceramic, and resin. We recommend a material based on the look, the budget, and how the piece will be used.

Do you make one-offs or editions?

Both. We cast single pieces and editions up to a few hundred units.

How long does casting take?

Mold making takes about a week. Editions depend on quantity. A few weeks is comfortable for most projects, and rush timelines are sometimes possible.

Can casting be part of a live event?

Yes. Mold making and casting can run as a live demonstration, and finished casts work as gifts, prizes, or displays at activations.

Can castings be painted or branded?

Yes. Casts can be tinted, painted, glazed, engraved, or foil stamped in our studio.

What sizes can you cast?

From small objects like charms and soaps up to large tabletop pieces. Larger sculptures are quoted case by case.

What have you cast before?

Tabi boots, sneakers, basketball planters, vases, soaps, and food objects. Some pieces were editions for retail, others were one-offs for events and exhibitions.

What does it cost?

Depends on the object, the material, and the quantity. Send details through the booking page for a quote.

Where do you work?

Based in New York City, shipping worldwide. Live casting travels with our event services.

How far ahead should we book?

A few weeks covers most projects. Large editions and complex molds need more time.
